And, I recorded this one piece off the Web here, just to help me to have a way of listening to it while practicing it, that really helped me to learn this one piece a whole lot faster and lot's of fun. This work is known to be the first music whose score was sold in more than one. Composed in 1899 and published in 1902, the music certainly takes its name from the Maple Leaf Club, a piano bar where Scott Joplin used to come and play. Be sure to always practice "hands separate", them learn it "hands together", as it's so much easier to learn any piano piece that way. Maple Leaf Rag is one of the most famous ragtimes by jazz pianist-virtuoso Scott Joplin, after The Enterainer. I really love the "Old fashioned Rag sound" one hears from this nice piece, it really has that "special desired sound" that you'd expect from a real great Rag, you know almost like it was written by Scott Joplin or one of the other great Ragtime composers around 1900, truly incredible sweet Rag sound, yet very easy to learn. Info: It is one of the most famous of all ragtime pieces. As a result Joplin was called the 'King of Ragtime'. To play, the syncopation is easy, the melody in the right hand isn't that much more difficult. He composer many of the most popular ragtime classics, such as The Entertainer, and the Maple Leaf Rag. It's very good that the bass clef has notes that are easier than most Rags of this level. This is a very great sounding Rag! It sounds hard to play when you listen to it, or play it on the piano, but it really is very easy to play. ![]() Read Sheet Music Plus's complete Privacy Policy. If you believe that any review contained on our site infringes upon your copyright, please email us.
